RIP Clement Tires: Long Live "Donnelley"

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

RIP Clement Tires: Long Live "Donnelley"

RIP Clement Tires: Long Live "Donnelly"

Fans of Clement tires out there...beware, the name change:

Donnelly Sports ends Clément license, launches Donnelly Cycling | Bicycle Retailer and Industry News

Donnelly is unveiling its new branding at the Eurobike show here this week. The new line will continue all the tire models and model names under the new label. Donnelly also will begin shipping its gravel wheelsets under the Donnelly name.
All their tires will continue under the new name, however.

Strange that they should throw away all that goodwill.

The name they have chosen is very bland.

I've seen studies showing that Donnelly tires roll slower than Clement tires. You heard it here first.

It certainly does lack those herbs and spices.

Oh well!

This explains why I've been struggling to get hold off 650B x 42 tubless MSO's

Clements UK distributor said they should be full steam ahead come mid October on distribution

I'll bet that they felt their tires had a sufficiently good reputation and no longer needed the Clement name to sell. I'm sure the cost of licensing the name was adding up for the small company.

One other thing: the "Donnelly" brand still hasn't launched. The website is still under construction and "Donnelly" branded tires aren't for sale anywhere I can see. If you're going to make this announcement, wouldn't you want to have rebranded stuff ready to go? Perhaps they're working through all of their old stock.

REI shows Donnelly tires for sale, but they are just Clement tires.
It seems the old stock is still being reduced.

They're not changing the tires just the name.

Extra resistance from the two added letters on the sidewalls.
