2018 Four Corners

Not sure anyone's posted about this yet, but it looks like Marin corrected all the design flaws - in particular the head tube finally looks tall enough - from the last gen that ended up steering me to the Masi Giramondo. I'm excited to take a test ride! It comes in a pretty blue too, so the colorway is a massive improvement over the eyeball-searing dull olive/fluoro orange from last year.

I like...very similar tire clearance and gearing to the 2017 base AWOL I bought this spring, which I think is an excellent, versatile bike (just not a racer). The Marin is slightly less expensive and has more bottle mounts...a win in my book.

It looks really attractive. If it had thru-axles, I'd pull the trigger.

Interesting bike. Pretty cool option in the 'adventure touring' category, especially at that price point.
Can't imagine thruaxle being needed or really even beneficial for adventure touring, but to each their own.

Marin is making a bunch of cool bikes right now. I like the look of this one for $1K. It's a basic build but I don't think anything would break. I agree thru-axles would be preferred simply because aligning rotors is a bit easier with them. IMO, every disc bike should have thru-axles, period.
