IRC Formula Pro Tubeless - I like in 28 mm

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

IRC Formula Pro Tubeless - I like in 28 mm

A couple months ago, I asked for recommendations for a 28 mm tubeless tire. There just aren't that many choices in this size, so I wanted to come back and post about my experience with them.

I've had these for about a month, and put 400 miles on them. They haven't given me anything to complain about yet. Grip is excellent, wet or dry. They're great on pavement, and superb on dirt. I think they're a little bit less supple than Pro Ones, I feel like they're more sure-footed on dirt and in mud though. They have a micro-herringbone texture except down the center, which I thought would slow me down on pavement and be a gimmick on dirt. But these corner very well and feel more planted than Pro Ones did (on the same rims, in the same size). It might be the texture, or it might be the compound, I don't know.

Knock on wood, no flats. My experience with Pro Ones was sidewall cuts were very common as soon as I left the pavement. That was their only problem, but happened too many times and I gave up on them. So far I'm happy with these.

I had the shop set them up so I can't comment on that aspect.

Nice. Wonder how these compare to the 28mm gravelking (not Short Knob version).
