Those with 30/46 cranks - what % of time spent in small ring?

Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Those with 30/46 cranks - what % of time spent in small ring?

Currently riding 28/38/48 triple and looking to purchase new adventure bike with 30/46 cranks. I spend most of my time in the 38T ring, wondering how much time is spent in the 30T ring on these adventure cranksets. It is pretty hilly here in GA and I do use the small ring occasionally, so don't know that I would get to use the 46T big ring much.

Curious as to what you all have experienced with 30/46 cranks.

Depends on the ride, but well over half the time I'm on the 46t ring. About 60/40 I'd guess. My cassette is 11-36.

Probably 2/3 of the time on the 30T (insofar as I spend about 2/3 of my time climbing). I also tend to ride as if I have two mutually exclusive 1X11 drive-trains, if I don't pay close attention.

Thanks for the info guys. I was a little concerned about spending too much time in small ring but looks like I was worried about nothing. I never thought about approaching the question as two separate 1X drive trains - perfect!
