I opted for a subtle, Dove Grey paint job, with black components on this 58cm frameset. You can go wild with metallic paints, fades and other bright options, all done in-house in Allied’s Arkansas facilities but I wanted a subtle build for the review.

I think the Allied frames look incredible. The paint isnt great, but i fet why the reviewer CHOSE it.
The article mentions how the frame's appearance isnt cutting edge and thats grest by me.

Crying about a frame pump, which isnt part of the bike, is funny. May as well criticize a bike based on a rider's choice in wedge bag.

The one below looks really good imo and generally I found the Allied bikes very attractive. The one in the review isn't the greatest paint job.

Biggest issue for me is the price and bottom bracket height. It's ridiculously tall for a bike that can take 38 and 40mm tires.

Exactly, this is a belgian waffle ride style bike, not a DK200 bike.

I like the look of this, it's a bike you could use of lots of different kinds of rides. It's basically a race bike that can fit wider tires. Also, they got the details right: BSA, thoughtful internal cabling and a round seatpost. I also like that they offer taller headtube versions for more upright positions.

$3K for a mass produced frame is steep, no doubt. You're paying a lot for the "Made in USA" sticker. The pretty nice Ultegra build is about $2K more than the comparable Checkpoint SL6 build. Not worth it to me, but it might be for other people.

How are we defining "mass-produced"? It's not bespoke, no, but I think that calling it mass-produced is a bit much.

Agreed. I think you are both right though. If I had the cash I'd spend the extra $2k because #MUSA.
