38mm Tire mounted on wide rims
So I have wide rims (AC MTB Race, ~24mm ID) and the new version 35 SKs measure 40mm on them. I want to use these on my new-to-me Cannondale SuperX but 40mm is the absolute max, it doesn't leave much room for error. I'm looking for suggestions on tubeless tires that will run 36-38mm installed, that are tough, and roll well like the SKs do. That rules out 36mm MSOs, they're too fragile, already tried unfortunately. Anything else I should look at?

32 mm SK's?
I don't think they come tubless though, only tubed version. Not 100% sure so please verify.

Above 35 and under 40 doesn't really have a lot of options. Vittoria has the new Terreno series that come in 33mm width. Might be close to what you're looking for. I hesitated to recommend as they're marketed as cross tires which means they probably won't be much larger than the advertised width, even with wide rims.
The gravel king mud might be an option but it most likely will not feel as fast as the SKs.

Consider the WTB Riddler in the 700x37 size. I had the 700x45 Riddler, it measured 44mm wide on a 28mm wide (external) wide rim.
700x45 WTB Riddler
Size: 700x45 measures 44mm
Tread pattern: small, short knobs at the center with deeper knobs on the shoulder for traction and float.
Performance on pavement is moderately fast with moderately low rolling resistance. Cornering on wet pavement could be problematic with the knobs on the shoulder potentially sliding on sharp turns
Performance on firm and smooth gravel is excellent, the tire rolls fast with enormous traction
Performance on deep or soft gravel is excellent with plenty of float and stability. The tire is secure on off-camber surfaces even while cornering. Heroic 35mph turns on loose gravel roads felt as safe as a good 29er tire
Durability in unknown but the tire is robust
Ride is moderately supple but is not as plush as the 120 tpi Clement tires.

Multiple punctures and a torn sidewall too big for the sealant to seal, all in a matter of two weeks. It takes a tough tire to survive here.
