Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". Suitable for gravelling?

Suitable for gravelling?

Hi guys, I've been looking at riding gravel for a while and was looking at converting old road bikes but then this Wheeler 5900 Proride popped up on my Facebook.

Would the 26" hinder my speed compared to todays gravel bikes?
It seems to be a higher end bike in its day, Rockshox Judy, Deore fd/rd, and a Thomson seatpost.

I get the impression that the owner seems to know what he's doing..

Looks fine for gravelling. Of course it's going to be a hair slower than a modern drop bar gravel bike - who cares?

Perhaps for the best. I could not imagine riding16 spoke wheels (even 26 in) in the terrain around here, which is just medium.
