Jeez...and I thought I was in really good shape. lol

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbround Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Jeez...and I thought I was in really good shape. lol

I tend to ride around 3 days a week or so and usually do around 200km a week, with climbs from 500meters to over 1000m each ride. but some people i follow on Strava?! wow. Doing like 120km rides with over a 2000m climb. or a very average ride for one guy i follow: say 80 or more km with 1200+meters climbing. i know itís stupid to compare myself but i look at other riders to get route ideas in my area all the time and i see this ****. nuts. and again, i feel super fit but todo a ride with over 2000m in a day (with well over 100km for length).. my legs would fall off lol

Of course there's a limit somewhere, but it's so far away it might as well not exist.

There's always going to be someone who's more fit or who rides more. Pro riders count, right?

I donít do much with Strava, but to change things up and keep me motivated in the heat, I decided to enter a ďJuly cycling challengeĒ = 600km. No problem I thought, even with me running many days instead, I should be able to do that...as of now, I should be on track to finish, maybe go a little over.

I looked at the leaderboard on July 3(?) and there were already a handful of people over 600km. Today (July 22) there is one guy that is already over 5800km...thatís just unreal to me, regardless of how many TdFs youíve finished....just the time commitment alone...wow.

I set a personal record on a climb recently and just for grins went and looked at what the fasted ride on strava was. I did it in 50 minutes, and the fastest person did it in 21 minutes. Slowest person in the top 10 did it in 26:30

Some of them are probably my same age.

If it bothers you, then you need to train more.

If it doesn't bother you, then I don't know why you are posting.

Anyone of modest ability can do things they didn't think possible with consistency and patience.
