To address the QR points being made: a while back I purchased DT Swiss RWS Skewers which are basically bolt-on quick release skewers. I've been very satisfied with them, have no issues with wheel alignment, and feel like they are very secure in my bike's frame & fork. I saw this as a good alternative as buying an entirely new bike & wheelset just to get thru axles didn't seem very practical.
They seem to hold up well on trails c:

Update: Forgot I had a spare wheel that I could check the rear tire clearance with:
Plenty of room around these 2.25 tires. I could probably go up to a 2.35 in the rear and be fine, though running them on 22.5 mm internal width rims might not be optimal. 2.25 in tires is about what I wanted to run anyway, so this has me very excited.

Took my bike to my LBS to get the headset installed, and I got the tires that I wanted to run being the Vittoria Barzo 29 x 2.25. Got all the parts I needed to get it all put together.
I got my fit set up on the bike. I'm having my LBS install the cables and all cause I just got tired at the end of putting everything else together (also had to take it over to get the steerer cut down). Once it's fully built I'll detail the build, although most of the parts are shown above.

You know between the snow, waiting to hear back from the bike shop, and life in general, I forgot to update this. I'll keep it short: Here's the finalized bike w. weight
