GRX 12 speed spotted at Unbound

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

GRX 12 speed spotted at Unbound

New Shimano GRX spotted! 12-speed, wider gearing than SRAM and Micro Spline - BikeRadar

This is a 1x mechanical setup running a 10-45t XTR M9100 cassette. Current official GRX 1x max cassette capacity is 11-42, so this is bigger on both ends - on par with SRAM XPLR. The 10T is possible because this is running on Micro Spline, not the standard road freehub. The rear derailleur in the photos looks very similar to the Deore M6100 RD, which has a max capacity of 51T.

Some speculation that GRX 12sp will use the same cable pull as Shimano's MTB groupsets, so mullet setups would be possible.

Additional speculation that there will be multiple tiers of Di2 versions - ala Ultegra/105.

My own speculation is that we might see a mechanical 12sp Ultegra/105 as well.
