Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

surly crosscheck question

I had an original crosscheck w/ the renoylds 631. I'm going to be getting a new one soon. I see that they switched to cro-mo 4351 or something like that. Why the switch and how are the new frames compared to the originals ? Was it $ reasons?

the changed the quality of the tubing most likely to keep the cost down much like how soma recently changed the smoothie from 853 to 631. you're probably gonna find the new frame is 1/2lb or so heavier.
