Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Giant Cypress SX or FCR 1?

Im looking at getting my first bike and commuting alot during the week about 20km per day each day.
I also want to ride the bike alot for fitness rides on weekends too.

Most of my communiting is on road and over grass in parks and off the occasional gutter.

I am 6ft 7inch and I weigh 120kg so I need a bike that would suit my size and weight.

I think I would prefer flat barred bikes for an upright style.

Budget not a problem.

As I said main reasons for bike is for commuting lots and for fitness rides.

What model of bikes could be my best options?

I was leaning towards the Giant Cypress SX (comfort) or the FCR 1 (flat bar road bike) as options?

Which of these two options would you suggest for me?

I am also willing to hear of any other options in other brands?

Any help would be greatful.

You really should post this to the commuter group.
