Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Although I'm pretty new to it, DC seems to have a pretty good cross scene. For races check out https://mabra.org/ and www.midatlanticcross.com as well as bikereg.

For teams most of the road and mountain bike teams in the area seem to make a showing at the local cross races and there are lots to choose from. Of course, I'm partial to the one I'm on - DCMTB/City Bikes (www.dcmtb.com). New riders are always welcome and a bunch of us do cross as well as mountain and road.

Why not talk to the George Mason cycling team? Bastards waited until the semester after I graduated to start it up.....

I'm in DC also, there's a few CXers here. I'm also looking for people to ride with, once a week is all I have time for as well, basically on Sundays. I'm looking to try a race, and would want to do combination training rides/sessioning on CX bikes to see just how much these machines can do. Running a tigh schedule here right now, but I'll be freed up mid November, which is good riding time (actually, all year round is good riding time). I've been exploring the DC area and I'm always on the lookout for trails, hidden trails, and interesting off-road sections to play with.
