New Cross Bike :)

Well, I thought I'd finally post some info on my cross rig for this season. I'm still working out a few bugs... but it is performing well overall. I initially had a Salsa 38T inner ring.... but that proved to not be happy with the 10speed Campy chain..... so I am awaiting a new 10 speed FSA inner ring. I had to race this weekend with a leftover 34T inner. That wasn't so bad, but I dropped my friggin' chain twice going over bumps because of the chain being a little too long (since it was setup to use the larger 38T ring.... and I wasn't going to shorten the chain for the 3 days it was gonna take to get a new ring in). But, then I broke a cleat and had to ride the rest of the race like that..... so the chain problems were the least of my concerns

Anyhow... on with the bike build.

Frameset: 2007 Redline Conquest Pro, size 56
Specialized Pro Set 120mm stem
Ritchey WCS OS bar 44cm
Specialized Pave II seat post
Specialized Toupe 143mm, white, seat
Campy Veloce Brifters, FD, RD
Campy Centaur 12-25 Cassette
Campy Chorus Ultra Narrow chain
FSA SLK crankset with 48/38T rings
Velocity Escape tubular rims (28 hole), laced to Speedcific Serinity Hubs with DT Super Comp spokes.
(I LOVE this wheelset... it weighed 1423grams and was VERY affordable)
Tufo 32mm Prestige Tires
Shimano M520 pedals (soon to be M970 XTR if the UPS man is nice )

I also have a set of Conti Twister clinchers on an spare set of road wheels for training and such.

A lot of the parts I had laying around.... but I am still pleased with how the bike turned out. I'll throw some pics up tonight after I get home from work.

Wheels came from Mike Garcia at www.oddsandendos.com.

He is terrible abotu answering email.... but give him a call and he will talk your ear off. He does about any kind of build you can imagine.... not just what is on his site. I've got 4 wheelsets from him and they are all holding up perfectly. Plus, his prices are great.
