saddle recommendations?
Ill start this post with a disclaimer: Im a big guy.
Here's the problem: Im a newbie to cyclocross (my first race tomorrow!) and Ive been practicing my mounts/dismounts. Ive been trying to hit the saddle with my thigh then slide on, but I have had the tendency to bend the saddle (two so far). The LBS repalced the original saddle (velo plush), but I doubt they will continue doing that. Any recommendations for a stronger saddle? Am I just remounting WAY wrong?

You probably are jumping too high and then slamming down on the saddle. I did the same thing my first year and I am 195lbs. Were your saddles cromoly rails? That is definitelly what you need.

Thanks for the reponse. I have no idea what the rails are. I know the saddle is bottom of the line, el cheapo. Any recommendations for a good cromoly railed saddle? Any strategies to improve sliding onto the saddle rather than jumping?

Maybe the Ritchey Pro Streem, it has cro-mo rails. It's out of stock on cyclocrossworld.com, but you can get it here: https://www.sagecycles.com/Merchant2/...ode=SD00RCPR01
