Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Good work. What did you think about the gravel area? I wen down midway through the B race and was able to fight back to finish in 4th. My leg is aching bad today though and I have some nice cuts from the rocks. What was the word about the gravel? People like it? Cool video!

I was out there in the C race, somewhere mid-pack. Don't think I got lapped!

Yeah, the gravel was the feature of this race. I watched the first few laps of the B race and it was about every 4th rider . . . BAM . . . BAM . . . BAM! Down they went. I wonder if it would have been quicker to dismount?

I think I could have kept up but that long climb on the pavement killed me.

I was thinking about dismounting for the gravel as well, but I think that would have used up more energy.
The guy who won the A race basically did a powerslide through there and it seemed to work pretty well.

That pavement climb was pretty tough, it really started to bog me down about 30 minutes in.

toward the end of the B race I saw most everyone was clipping out the inside foot . . . didn't see any power slides though!

After crashing in the gravel I unclipped my inside foot every time after. I watched the A riders go through there and noticed that very few of the lead riders unclipped. They did pretty good obviously.

It was an overcast "blah" day so the images are a little lackluster, but the racing was great!

Enjoy!!
