07 Jake the Snake vs. 06 Redline Conquest
If anyone can lend their opinion, I'd really appreciate it. I'm in a toss up between these two bikes.
The 07 Jake the Snake can be had for 1149.00 Canadian and would come with 2 years servicing at the LBS.
The 06 Conquest can be had for 1000.00 Canadian, plus I'd have to pay about 60 bucks to have it shipped. Being that it would be purchased from out of town, I woudln't get the free tuneups. This conquest comes in the florescent green colour as well.
I've heard nothing but great things about both bikes. I think the JTS has a slight upgrade on components with 105, while the Redline is a mix of 105 and Tiagra.
What about wheelsets? The Redline comes with Ritchie rims and Maxxis tires, while the JTS comes with Mavic rims and the same tires as the Redline.
The JTS comes with a carbon fork as well, so I'm thinking that's an upgrade over the Aluminum fork on the Redline? Is the JTS Aluminum frame or Steel?
I won't be doing any racing with the bike, it will probably be used more for commuting and slight off road trail stuff. I live in Northwestern Ontario Canada and our roads are full of potholes and frost heaves because of our Winters. We also have an overabundance of trails because of being situated on the Canadian shield, it's quite impressive.
Which would be the better value and why? Any help anyone can lend would be GREATLY appreciated.

One bike is coming from a local store in Winnipeg Manitoba, the other is coming from a local store in Thunder Bay, Ontario.
