Suggestion for a sub-forum? Cyclocross Racing?

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Suggestion for a sub-forum? Cyclocross Racing?

Suggestion for a sub-forum? Cyclocross Racing?

Is there any interest in a "racing specific" sub forum? sort of a place to post more race-specific questions, race recaps, etc?

seems like a great idea. track racing has it's own sub forum, separate from the fixed/ss forum. seems like the same situation. a general forum for those who ride the bikes, and one for who actually race them.

When I first came to this forum, I thought the critical responses to people wanting 'cross bikes to commute to work or ride the bike trail on the weekend to be a little petty. Some of them still are.

Now that I've started racing 'cross, I understand them more. The good threads about race positioning, tubulars, getting the "hole shot" and reversing brake levers get lost amid a flood of people looking for a great all around bike.

I don't want all around, I want mud flyin', brake screami', beer flowing action!

Yes! It's the middle of road racing season for me, but I'm already looking forward to 'cross. It's so much more chill (both weather and 'tude!)

Let's not wait until the race season starts - let's ask to have the sub-forum start now. We should be planning on equipment, training, recruiting racers, etc.

Let me see which cage I need to rattle to make this a reality. I, too, would be into it. I like to know what races are happening and where, so I can lose them.

There is actual math involved in creating a subforum, but I should get around to it before the next weekend is over.

i love that beer always seems to be a factor!

I too would be totally down with a sub forum, or something similar to the race/alleycat thread in the fixed forum.....somewhere where questions and topics are race orientated....

Mmmm. I must have eaten an entire tuna. Someone come up with a title that goes under the subforum name. I'm stumped for a cyclocross one.

My cigar beckons.

Cyclocross Racing -
What is a good tire for snow and sand? Where can I race locally? How do I get vomit out of skinsuits? Come discuss the aspects of 'cross racing and find out where you can hop barriers and ride skinnys through mud. All this and more in the Cyclocross racing forum

I went with the same format Joe used for Road and MTB Racing:

Discuss pro racing, the big races, and even the small backyard races. Don't forget to update all the members with your own race results.

so just to clarify, is this sub forum just for races, or topics specific to racing and whatnot. I got a question about tires. where does it go?

is it for a racing tire - and I saw it over on chifg, so yeah - racing subform.

we were asked to put something out there that would handle the race-specific questions regarding cyclocross.

What tire should I run on my cyclocross bike if I am commuting on washy gravel, but mainly roads: here

what tire should I race in snowy, mushy conditions that will allow me to run lower PSIs: the racing subforum

thanks!

Thanks to Brian for creating the subforum. It'll be a good resource when we ramp up in a couple of months.
