Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Lacing Pattern and Spoke Count

Hi. I'm new to this forurm and hoping for some advice on a wheelset I want to buy for my son. He races cross a couple times a week. I'm thinking of getting him Mavic CXP-33's on Chris King hubs.

Is 28 for the front and 32 for the rear a cood spoke selection? He weighs 140.

And what lacing pattern should I get, 2x or 3x?

Any comments would be great.

Thanks.

2x front 3x rear would be the way I'd go. Or on the rear you could go 2x non drive side and 3x drive side.
