Anyone use nokian hakkapeliittas for occasional trail rides?

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Anyone use nokian hakkapeliittas for occasional trail rides?

How do they hold up?
Will they be way too slow on the road?

why would you?

+they are HEAVY!
+rolling resistance sucks.
+slow on the road
+expensive
+there's tons of better choices!

i lived in norway for 2 yrs and rode year round. for winter/icy conditions hakk's are invaluable -- but that's it.

i tried riding them to a cyclocross practice last season when the road was icy, and i could do crap on the practice course - slow, didnt grip, all the grooves filled in with mud, and people thought that i was riding on the rims when i got on asphalt or hard pack because the studs were so loud.
