Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

For my money.

For my money.

Hi i am new to cyclocross and returning to cycling after my body gave up on running. I live in a area surrounded by dirt tracks and surfaced roads perfect for cyclocross riding.

Ive got around two and a half grand to spend on a new bike. (Aus dollars) and was wondering what i could get for the price. I am interested in riding as flat out as possible and improving my fitness and indurance, perhaps even trying my hand at some competition racing if their is any competition in my city. Ive seen the Specialized Tricross Sports and the Blue CX6.5 on the forum and wondered how these stack up in terms of costs and ability compared to other cyclocross bikes.

Also what is the cost of a Moots Psyclo-x and a Felt F1X.

There is mechanic that works in one of the local shops here that rides his Felt for cross and road and LOVES it. Since this guys works in a shop, I'm guessing he could any number of bikes for cheap (including Seven) and he chose the Felt...

not exactly. shops typically only stock two or three major brands and you can only get employee prices on those brands. that being said, i've heard good things about the felts.

Felt F1X retails at around $1500 US.

I know several people who ride them and they all have nothing but good things to say about it.

Bike availability in Australia will probably be completely different.... what dealers do you have close to you?
