Dawes lightning cross

So i moved out to a area in my state where i have hills apon hills with some dirt roads mixed in so im looking for a cyclocross bike....Obviously i was looking at the dawaes lightning any feedback about this bike? Chances are i might race a hand full of cyclocross but no much. I have high end bikes so im not a newbi or anything but im looking for a decent starter that will get me out on the roads and som playing in the dirt... i know its its not a crazy bike but im just looking for a starter........

the only thing that stands out to me is the radial lacing on a cross bike? is that a good idea?

ya the radial thing... i wouldnt race cross on them since im a big guy but i would use it as a road rim all day
