Specialized tricross chain advice
Im replacing the chain on my 08 tricross sport for the first time. I went to my local bike shop & they told me a 9 speed chain was what i needed, which conflicts with the bikes documentation which states its fitted with a 10 speed super narrow.
A total newb question i realise, just want to get the best chain for my bike. Ive also been interested in a quick release chain, anyone recommend any retailers that may have one suited to the tricross?
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

It LBS could have been mistaken. If your tricross is indeed a 10sp, then you will need a 10sp chain. a 9sp chain will not work properly because of different spacing of the cassette. Get a Connex by Wipperman chain, includes a Connex link ("quick release") or a SRAM PC1090 or 1070 chain, includes a PowerLink ("quick release").

Even the latest model is only a 9 speed. The Specialized specs on the latest bike show a 9 speed chain. I think you'd be fine replacing it with a 9 speed version. Save a couple dollars also.

Count the cogs, though the LBS is probably right -- the TriCross Sport comes stock with a 9 speed drivetrain. They move to 10 speed at the TriCross Comp level.
Between SRAM and Wipperman, I heartily recommend Wipperman with the Connex links. I've had too many SRAM quick links become impossible to separate with bare hands to recommend them.
