Thank you very much! I think I met my goal of making something totally unique, cheap, and race-able... although after racing it on sunday I found that it's weakness is mud clearance. I had what felt like 10 pounds of mud clogged around the brakes. I had to stop twice to clean it out so the wheels would even turn. I'm going to have to modify the mavic brake adapters a bit perhaps. ---or just stick to the dry courses
It's also a bit heavy; (steel and all) but not bad. I love riding it

^ The top tube is on the long side, but it actually kind of fits me as I have actually long, gangily monkey arms compared to the rest of my body.... I put that stem on, which is an 80mm and it seems to feel really good. The bike came stock with a low 15mm stem that was just way too long.- not to mention the fact that it didn't have a faceplate so it wouldn't work getting a road bar on there anyway.
I used the 26" wheels all the time, obviously, up to this point... but I wanted to see if going bigger would make it race better. -Which it did; and they help to make the bike fit me better, as the frame is on the small side for my height (except the top tube length) (although they say to have a slightly smaller frame in cyclocross racing, I suppose) I may consider going back to smaller wheels if I keep having to ride in very muddy courses just to make it ride-able.

I got to do a very muddy race today (Kruger's Crossing). I don't have race photos, but here are some shots of my bike afterward.
The way the Kona logo is meant to look.
I'm pretty sure there's a derailleur under here somewhere.

As you can tell from the big chain ring, this is just a proof-of-concept configuration at this point, but it's the first time I've had it in a completely ridable state, so I wanted to post it. I actually haven't ridden it yet. I'm waiting for a new axle to come in the mail to finish it as a fixed gear. I'll probably break down and ride it like this, maybe with street tires and fenders, while I'm waiting.

Thanks. the bell is from Specialized, came with the bike. It comes with a longer bolt to replace the bolt in the lever pivot. Most shops never knew where it was supposed to be mounted it seems.

Sweet ride, hey man, I have a 46Tx110mm THORNE ring with like 4 races on it that I wont be using anymore - decided to go with a 1x10 set up. Looks like you might need a 130mm however...

my S-Works:
can't remember the full details, but this is one of two final full AL frames out of the jig, eh?
52cm I'm 5'9" but have a 34" inseam so my position always looks too dramatic for most folk. but ask the guys I chase around the local loop...
other than spectacular crashes (the bike always survives!) i can hold my own...
just got the Vuelta's & the bontrager jones XC's fit perfectly!-WOW! it rides very differently-as it's my first time on "29ers"
had to trim the outer lugs totally off to fit the tire.( gonna have to go with 1.7's max next time)
anyway i
I'm near a lot of dirt roads, so there's some quiet places to ride...

New rims and tires for christmas! Built them up with 27 year old hubs, really cool mix I think. Down to about 23 pounds from 25 when vintage. Effin love this bike.

A short ride behind my house. I've set up a decent CX course back there.
The only change I've made to the bike is changing the bar tape from Baby Blue Fizik to Red Easton cork tape. I like the red tape better, and I kind of like the grip better than the Microtex.
