Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

The Weapon.
Spot Brand, Sram Force, FSA Kwing bars, TRP carbon brakes,King HS, Thomson, Toupe.
Looks tiny, but is actually 60cm center-to-top, and 58 c-to-c. Nicest bike I have ridden next to my Colnago (which I really need to sell to finance this thing, but just can't seem to do it).
The wheels were a cheap way to get into a set of tubies. I'm hoping to have something proper by next season. Still deciding on whether or not to go to a single chainring, so I haven't messed with the gearing yet. This will also be remedied by next fall.

I got this frame from a friend for free, bought wheels and cranks, put it together with parts i had lying around... I think itīs pretty cool, for the price (~250€). Tange, triple butted.

I really like it. My buddy also has this frame. It has been a good all-rounder for him. In fact, it serves as his only road bike as well.

I built this as a preemptive strike. I want to start cyclocross but don't really know anybody in the scene down here. if any of you cats in NOVA or DC feel like being patient and getting somebody started that would rock. Seriously. IM(Ssffusa128), PM or email (SSffusa128@aol.com). Or respond here.

P.S. I would make another thread but then i couldn't post pix of my just finished bike. sorry.

Check out bikerackcyclocross.com, DC team, so that's pretty close to Fairfax.

LOVE that crosscheck Bonechilling! What tape are you using? I have been looking for a tape to match my yellow Selle Italia Flite Gel Flow. It is kind of a darker yellow. Would you say that tape is a darker yellow (maybe a little orangish yellow?)?

Thanks. The tape is Fizik, which is pretty expensive almost everywhere, but cheap at REI.

I took my Poprad out for a few photos today.

It started this summer as a stock 2002 LeMond Poprad.

Now it's hardly original anymore.

Frame: 853 steel repainted white
Fork: Nashbar carbon cyclocross
Brakes: Stock Avids with Kool Stops
Pedals: Crank Bros
Front shifter: None, replaced with Tektro brake lever
Front derailer: None, replaced with chain watcher
Front chainring: Salsa Crossing Guard and 42T
Crankset: Dura-Ace FC-7410
Rear shifter: Sora 8 speed
Rear derailer: Sora 8 speed
Rear cassette: SRAM 11-28
Wheelset: Reynolds Alta Race
Saddle: Specialized Toupe Team
Handlebars: Salsa Bell Lap

Rear

Front

1x8 drive train

A Christmas tragedy. I forgot a Guinness was in my hoodie pocket, leaned over, and it fell out .

The tragedy continues. A shard blew out of the bottom, piercing my sidewall and popping the tube .

I am going to redo my cables soon, and put on some grey rubberized Salsa bar tape.

The white looks nice, but it is a pain to keep even somewhat clean.

VERY nice dubstylee.

Lost a Leffe Blonde yesterday to a paper bag with a soggy bottom. Christmas can be so cruel.

What does your poprad weigh in at?

Using a digital bathroom scale with me as the tare weight I got 19.0 lbs with the bike as pictured. Maybe I'll get something more official when I get rid of the boat-anchor seatpost and stem.

Dura Ace cranks with sora derailleur and shifter? Sweet frame and fork? That's my kind of bike. Looks like you have your priorities straight!

The fork is an "Advanced". Asian made and sold by Empella as the "Carbonfire". But quite stiff at 550 grams uncut.

The cranks are 172.2 mm Storck Powerarms. 315 grams for the two arms. But I'm thinking about a switch to Clavicula - just to make sure you'll definitely hate me
