Finished my build a couple weeks ago and have been having a blast , this bike has given new life to some familiar trails and is capable of some mild trials moves.
2014 Crux disc frame and fork , MTB gearing to handle the trails I like, Stans wheelset with 700x40c tubeless , and Hope Mono disc brakes adapted with Barend shifters 2X10. 18lbs 4 oz which is respectable for an aluminum frame dual disc bike IMO.
This is pretty much a budget rip of Martyn Ashtons Road bike party II bike and somewhat of a tribute to a down ( but not out) biking great.
Anyway, Fun build and really fun learning to ride "in the drops"

I almost went with a VO crank when I built my Surly. It looks great with that frame.

Soma Triple X
It's a fun ride. Gravel grinders are popping up all over the country now and it's a good crowd just out to challenge themselves and enjoy the camaraderie.

60Cycles - I absolutely love the Soma Triple Cross, but then I am partial to shiny bikes too. That frame has been saved to my favorites folder for quite sometime now, but I am sure they will be sold out before I can save up. Enjoy that ride!
Here is my drop bar converted Jamis Coda that serves as my latest gravel rig.

The Triple Cross does not use Tange Prestige tubing. As per Soma's website: Fillet brazed KVA MS2 double butted stainless steel tubing. Really nice frame btw.

Nice rig. How are you liking the shifters? I have known a couple of the brifters to develop problems and sometimes think less (moving parts) may be more on an unsupported ride, miles from nowhere.

Thanks. It was an impulse when I discovered that it was being built and distributed. A friend of mine has a DoubleCross and I was looking on the Soma site for something with more BB drop then what most cross racers offer.

This is pretty much a budget rip of Martyn Ashtons Road bike party II bike and somewhat of a tribute to a down ( but not out) biking great.
Anyway, Fun build and really fun learning to ride "in the drops"

crank addict - Let me know if you come across any. I saw some on ebay, but they were fairly small. Would love a 4'x3' size.

My Gravel Grinders
My first gravel grinder (29er Mountain Bike/Monster Crosser)

geared with 2.1 Nano raptors and road drops

geared with 38c and Salsa Woodchippers

Singlespeed, Monster Cross, 1.95 Kenda Klaws

Singlespeed, Monster Cross, Pro Pulsion Gary I bars, 1.95 Vee Rubber

1999 Cannondale XS800

2010 Surly Cross Check
I just sold the Qball (last night), and the Cannondale went last month, and I picked up the Cross Check around Christmas, hence the sale of the two other bikes. By far, the Cross Check is the best Gravel Grinder, as well as commuter, and winter workout bike.
