Those roads do look very nice! Another location added to the list of places to check out...

it was a first gen ti shell rear from 1992 that they no longer make spare parts for. plus it can only accept a 7spd freehub and i wanted to run 10.
im sure your wheels are fine because you have new stuff and not this elderly junk like i did.

Cinelli Hobootleg

I love my Cinelli Hobootleg. Mostly used for touring and commuting. Looking a bit different these days with a rando bag living up front as well as a Giles Berthoud saddle instead of the Brooks C17. I'm about to ditch those Compass tires though. They feel amazing. They look amazing. They flat constantly.

I'm also having a new fork built. The original was ruined when I got hit by a truck, and the carbon/aluminum Columbus Tusk Touring fork I've been riding just doesn't have enough rake. Makes me nervous. Used to run fenders, but got one too many rocks stuck up in there.

Those are Speed Racer hubs. I had them on my old Serotta in the late 90's with an DA 9 speed group. Sweetest hubs I ever had. I do not believe they were ever made for 7 speed. They came out in '94 when 7 speed was obsolete. In 2014 they released a 20th anniversary edition updated for 11 speed.

i thought it was an mi5. i cut it out of an old wheel i found at the shop stashed in the corner collecting dust. it was shiny and 135 spaced just like the stinner so i thought it would be perfect. i emailed white some pictures and asking about 11spd freehub compatibility between generations and it was possible to upgrade. they hit me back with this.

so i guess i could have a nice singlespeed rear wheel with some spacers and a king cog.
but even with replacing the bearings, theres still some side to side play in the hub that i cant adjust out.

Sorry I'll miss seeing you at the Red Clay Ramble. I've ridden that Scull Shoals route a few times, but starting from Penfield. It's a favorite.

Hey, I know it's off topic, but how did you pull off that nice paste of your iPhone screen, with the email addressses scratched off? I could use that skill, especially if it can be done on the fly...

Very nice. Welcome to the Niner RDO club. :thumb:

Can you tell us about the build? What bar is that? What gearing are you running? What rotors are those? How much does it weigh?

Did you ride the trail in the last photo? Every time I ride heavily rooted or rocky trails my headset seems to loosen a bit.

Wanna race?

sweet!

I have had a lot of cool bikes but I sold 7 of them after I got this one. Due to advancing years and injuries from a bad crash even this "relaxed" position causes pain so I have been thinking of selling her. Then I remembered I had a set of moustache bars unused in my parts bin. I just did a trial fit and I think they may work for me. I enjoyed another pair for years on my Rivendell Allrounder. Stay tuned.

is that a banana hammock?

Soonerinfrisco 08-14-17 02:22 PM

LOL! The saddle on my friend's Marrakesh is my old Selle Anatomica that I gave her. She calls it her surf board but she loves it! Thinks it is the most comfy saddle ever. Usually rides with no chamois. She is fairly petite. I personally hated it as the nose on it tended to scramble the eggs....

Nice, I dig your build!

What tires are you running with the Etap? I have etap on my cross bike (just got it) and it clears my 33.33 Clement tire, but anything wider would start hitting the battery on the fd.

This photo makes me nervous.

There's no downhill. Where does the water go when it rains?

And no trees. That grass can't possibly make enough oxygen for people to live healthy lives.

The whole place is just unnatural.
