Thanks...so far I love it. Took it around the neighborhood for a quick spin but I'm in a really hilly paved area and the gearing is brutal for a test ride. I'm racing this weekend so I need to find some flats to get in some more shakedown time. I may try to lighten it up next year but it's not too bad at 19lbs bone stock.

Oh nice...that's the root beer one, right? I almost went with that one before the CXR fell into my lap. Any complaints on yours so far?

that's the root beer one. only complaint is it's heavy(go figure), but that's usually used as an excuse when i was struggling up long run ups. having sliding drop outs like the x check would be nice, if they were like the ones on the fisher cross bikes it'd be bonus

it's 23 right now. with the gears it was probably a pound or 2 heavier, never weighed it with the gears on it

Here is my new Kona JTS...

I picked up the Frame/Fork off ebay (like 370 shipped) and built it up with a mix of stuff I had around and some new parts, build list is as follows:

Frame/Fork: 2010 Kona Jake the Snake, Kona Carbon/Alu Fork
Headset: FSA (included with Frame/Fork)
Stem: 3T ARX Pro 90 - off ebay cheap
Bar: Take off control tech from my CAAD 9
Post: Take off from my wife's specialized
Seat: Flite - off my IF
Cranks/Rings: Take off 105 with a new Thorne outer ring 46/36
Group: 105/Ultegra 6600 - the 105 came off my CAAD 9, the Ultegra FD/RD and Chain came off a TT bike
Wheels: Easton Vista - off a TT bike - going clincher for now...
Tires: Michelin Mud/Jet combo - got these new
Brakes: Avid Shorty 4's - picked them up new/cheap
Pedals: Crank Bro's Eggbeater SL - new
Tape: Fi'zi:k - new

I think I dropped around 700-ish, thanks to NYC Velo who helped with the wrenching. Still playing with fit, I might actually flip the stem - I'm not gonna cut the fork down yet...who knows how long I'll keep this.

Love it! That is a very pretty bike and also looks like a tank. Love bikes like that. Great job.

well, i didn't like riding with the road groupo stuff on my cx bike...so, i replaced: the road bars with flat bars, 105 group went to SRAM x.9 rd & x.7 shifters (kept the 105 fd), and using Performance brand brake levers. also added my Dinotte 200L headlight for nighttime cx rides at Umstead State Park....

i'm gonna riding this bike....
