Needa a bit o' help - is this a good deal?
https://maine.craigslist.org/bik/1405961155.html
I'm looking for a cross bike to use in the New England winters (not during snow or anything, just when the roads are tougher) as well as to use on trails, fire roads, some light singletrack. I do mostly road riding now, mixing a bit of mtb'ing in, and I'm looking for a cyclocross bike to add to the stable.
Anyway, that was perhaps more info than necessary - or not enough? Let me know. Again, I'm trying to decide if this is a good deal - baring in mind that I live in MA, and would have to drive the 150 miles to get to the bike.
Thanks, gang.

First question: Will a 58 cm fit you? How tall are you? Inseam length? Will you feel stretched out when riding?
When new it sold for $1500. Six years later with upgrades it may be an ok deal if it fits and you REALLY like it.

My road bike (Specialized Roubaix) is a 58cm and fits me perfectly, which is why it caught my eye. So, with that in mind, whaddaya think?

look up completed listings on ebay
also all 58cm bikes do not fit the same; you need to compare their geometries to see if you can make them fit the same.

You want good standover height of course, but make sure you measure your Roubaix's top tube (including stem length) and compare that to the Cannondale. Considering the trip to Portland and unless you really want that bike, I'd seriously consider something like that Fuji crocodilefundy mentioned or holding out for a cx bike in MA. Timing may be a factor for racing though?
I just moved to western MA from the South Shore (There are some nice races in Plymouth and one coming up in Brockton!). Depending on where you are, there are some decent shops around.
