Rode mountain bike trails on a MOUNTAIN BIKE..

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Rode mountain bike trails on a MOUNTAIN BIKE..

..and never have I felt so slow on a bike. I'll take my CX bike on singletrack any day! Not that I was planning on it, but now I really don't feel a need to get a MTB.

Although a rigid 29er would be fun..

Good song but no CX.

Try a non-n00b trail and get back to us.

I like riding the hills on my cross bike and all, the climbs are great and shooting through the nice smooth sections are great. But the trails i ride are a bit rooty and rocky and i dont enjoy bombing down the hills the same way i do on my mountain bike with suspension. I have to admit its very different in a good way, its a different kind of gnar id say. I like both styles. Any one else prefer both?
