It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". Chicago Cyclocross Clinic with Jeremy Powers & Randy Warren by Illinois Tech Cycling

Sunday, August 15th, one of the best professional Cyclocross racers in the country, J-Pow, and one of the best coaches in the mid-west, Randy. $50 for three hours of instruction/practice, food from Chipotle, and one hour of Q&A with the instructors during lunch. Topics will include:
Beginners session will start with the basis. What is a cross race? What is a "typical" cross race like? (distances, dismounts, barriers, etc) What do the categories mean? Do I need a license?
Bike Handling
Starting A Race (and clipping in quickly)
Cornering
Dismounting & Remounting
Barriers
Sand-Pit
Run-Ups
Sprinting
Training Strategies (Should you run? How much should you ride? How much technical work? Typical week.)
Tactics for racing (starts, finishes, using the pack, drafting, attacks, teammates)
Equipment Choices (Bikes, Tires, Brakes, Clothing)

All participants are required to bring a bike. You must also sign in (waivers) and wear their helmet at all times when you're riding on the IIT campus. We recommend bringing a water bottle or two depending on the weather. Event will be held rain or shine.

Sunday August 15th:
8:30 am to 8:50 am - First Session Rider Check In
9:00 am to 12:00 pm - First Session
12:00 pm to 1:00 pm - Lunch, Q&A, Second Session Rider Check In
1:00 pm to 4:00 pm - Second Session

Visit the our Team Information page for our location. Check in will be in the north end of the building marked on the map. All day parking is available for $10 in the parking lot east of State St where 32nd would be, just north of the orange building that the green line "el" train runs through. (On the map its that small diagonal street off State street)
