Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Which tire - Kenda Kross Supreme or Ritchey Speedmax Comp?

I'm looking for an inexpensive pair of tires, and see good deals on both of these. Knowing practically nothing about cx tires, I'm wondering which would be a better all around tire?

Thanks.

The Ritchey's are my 'training' tires. I have no complaints. They corner really well on grass.

What are your courses going to be like?

The Ritchey looks like a good choice for hard pack and grassy courses. The Kenda could be good as an all-arounder. I don't have experience with either tire. If you're likely to see a lot of mud, check out the Clemenet Crusade PDX. I haven't tried those either, but I've heard good reports from a guy who has.

I'm really happy w/ my Ritchey Excavader Cross Pros. I haven't tried anything else on my cross bike, but i've done lots of tire experiments with mountain biking and i've been really pleased with these during cross training races, real races, and single track.
