frame ? for a roadie

SO I have been bitten by cross and was thinking about selling my jamis and moving my road bike to a cross frame set . With my road set up ( sram red ) and then just getting a set of cross wheels to use during the season. So I guess my question is what if any would be the issue with this ? Will I suffer stiffness ?
Thanks ,
john

So you're saying that you want to use your road bike with CX wheels and tires? I suspect that any road bike that came with SRAM Red components will not have the clearance for even the skinniest CX tires.

I'm reading it to say he's thinking of moving the components over to a cross frame. I don't think i'd do this myself. You planning on giving up road riding completely? I think you'd be best served by just getting yourself a cross bike with something like SRAM rival or Shimano 105. I wouldn't want to put those fancy components through the abuse of cross racing.

Exactly. My cross bike cost about the same as a set of Red brakes and it takes punishment like a Cuban welterweight. No need to overdo it.

Yeah, I personally wouldn't race red in CX unless you have lots of disposable income. You'd still have to get brakes & possibly a new cassette. Find a good deal on CL/Ebay for something w/ Rival. My $.002
