From my limited exp with CX, I havent ever once found the need for the interrupters. I have raced my couple times here in WV, where the courses are hilly is hell, but havent found myself wishing i had them. As far as the flipped front and rear levers goes, most people dismount to their left. Thing is, you dont want to, for some reason, clip ur left break lever while dismounting and having it lock up the FRONT wheel. If so, head-over-heels is in order. Thats a big reason why people switch the lever designation

FWIW check out the video on youtube of Zeddam 2006 and see Wellens giving a clinic on how to use top-mounts, especially on a couple bumpy descents. See Nys go OTB.

And to repeat myself, only run your brakes "moto style" if you run them that way on all your bikes. Otherwise, you are asking for trouble.

the bike project changed and i ended up with 26mm bars, my cross levers have a 31.8mm clamp and already on ebay. i tried a friends bike with the cross levers and it felt like they added a lot of drag to the cable. i am quite sure these are not for me.

the brakes are already hooked up in a traditional fashion. there is no way i am changing both my road bikes to "moto style".
