Bianchi Zurigo!
I'm not sure if this is a normal or even acceptable thing to do among these forums, but I am going to buy a Bianchi Zurigo and strip the parts off and put them onto a Surly Cross-Check.
So... does anyone want to buy a brand-new Bianchi Zurigo frameset (Frame, Fork, Headset, Seatpost, Seatpost Clamp)? I'm looking to get about 600, but I could be talked down in price if need be.
P.S. I would get whatever size you needed, I haven't bought it yet.

Or, if you're set on the Surly, just purchase the parts you want and hang them on the Surly. Seems like it would cost less in the long run.

Seriously, if you're going to buy a new bike for the parts, I think Bikes Direct is the way to go.

I wouldn't be able to sell a Bikes Direct frame for nearly as much as a Zurigo frame

Yeah, this isn't the place to sell things and I think goes against forum rules. There is a For Sale forum for this type of thing.

Obviously I don't know how much you're getting the Zurigo for, but for $1000 you can get a bike from BD with Rival components and a Gossamer crank, as opposed to the Apex/Omega on the Zurigo. If you were paying retail for the Zurigo, then this would be a better deal even if you had to pay someone $100 to take the BD frame off your hands.

I couldn't get a Soma.
I can get some special pricing from my LBS, but they aren't dealers for Soma, so I'm kind of limited.
