Boardman cyclocross pro/team

Hey everyone,

I know Halfords have these bikes but they dont ship internationally. Is there a way I can get it from UK to Sydney?

Thanks,

Danny

Go to google.co.uk and look up couriers and international shipping companies; contact several for quotes; get back up off floor after looking at the bill. Once you have chosen a courier company, contact Halfords explaining that the bike will be picked up by courier and confirm details by email.

Btw - if you're buying this bike based on rave reviews in the cycling press, that's maybe not such a good idea. Advertising and PR budgets have a huge effect on reviews of anything in my experience, plus most bike journalists are idiots. Before going to that much trouble I'd want to find someone reasonably experienced who has the bike and likes it a lot.

Other possibility: some smaller UK bike stores are able to order Halfords bikes and assemble them, I believe. You could maybe mail a couple and see if they will help.

I conversed with a Halfords manager by email about a boardman hybrid pro LTD to ship to adelaide they were friendly and really wanted to help but no go.
Halfords is not a specialist bike shop there a variety department store like Target or Big W in australia and there workers dont really know all about bikes.
Imagine someone from the UK trying to buy something from Big W in australia with with workers just out of school that just look at the clock waiting to go home.

That's not quite true. They only sell car accessories and bikes, and although they have a mixed rep on quality of staff they're trying hard to expand their share of the upper value bike market. Which is why they have bough sole UK rights to brands like Joe Murray's Voodoo. However, that doesn't really help you with international delivery. But, as long as you are willing to pay by bank transfer or some such thing and arrange courier pick up, you should be able to work something out.

If they've been in business more than a few days and stolen people's stuff then the Net should be full of complaints. And they take PayPal, so you wouldn't be risking your card number. You'll still need for Halfords to be willing to take your payment from Australia though and to post to a UK address.

I read in a magazine (Cycling Active) last month that they are going to start distrubution worldwide via independant retailers. Not sure if any have been setup yet though. Also mentioned https://www.boardmanbikes.com/ who might be able to help for suppliers for you.

I have been looking to buy one of these bikes for a while but cant quite get the pennies yet

what is so special about this bike to go through this trouble? Isn't there something you can buy in Australia that would be comparable?

I like full smooth welding bike. In Australia, it's a total rip off, for over 2 grand or more. It's ridiculous!
