Croll frames

Anyone ever heard of Croll? Have seen one of their frames for sale and am wondering if anyone knows anything about this builder...

He's from the Twin Cities. His frames are really nice and I see a fair amount of them here. I would love to pick up a steel Croll frame. I hear that he's not making frames anymore though. How much is it going for?

It is on ebay. Do you know what these frames cost new? It looks like a lovely frame -- Reynolds 853 with a 531 fork. Most cross frames have really long top tubes, but this one has really nice proportions.

I've talked with a couple of people a few years back that had the road frames and they loved them. The bikes were beautiful.

Walther Croll. Those were indeed great frames. I think that sometimes in the mid to late 90s the company changed the owneship. The original owner (and theoriginal master frame builder) sold it to a new frame builder and the name too. I was about to have one custom made for me till one of my friends, a bike dealer, advised me againt them. I think it was back in 1999 when I lived in the Twin Cities. According to my friend the newer Croll frames were not that good any longer. Well, they were still pretty good, but not as good as they ued to be in the early and mid 90s. Plus in those days they used to cost close to a grand. Today, for that amount of money you can get a very nice custom build frame elsewhere. I doubt that they make any frames any longer. In any event I though it over and decided not to buy one from them. Croll was having problems due to low sales and I din't want to buys omething with a warranty that'd expire soon.
