Building up a new cyclocross: I found 2 frames.

I'm going to use my old Campy Veloce parts to build a new cyclocross bike. The basis is the frame, I happened to find two:

2001 Kona Major Jake 49cm

KHS CX200 Size Small
http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/bik/2389394550.html

The main thing is, I'm 5'3" with a 28.5" inseam. Are these two frames too large for me as far as standover goes? I can't find a definite standover for the KHS, so maybe some of you know the standover off-hand. I'm always looking for more also, so there may be more in the future.

With the paint , I don't care really. I'm going to sandblast them and repaint them. As long as the frames are in good condition, that's all i really care about.

The KHS geometry is here: http://www.khsbicycles.com/Images/Ge...geo-road-b.jpg

Neither one of those frames strike me as amazing deals. The Major Jake looks like it's in great shape, but it's 10 years old and the fork is basically the same steel fork that comes on the base model Jake these days. That said, I would definitely choose that frame of the two, given that they are about the same size. The frame itself is not the same as the scandium MJ's from the last couple of years but it's probably reasonably light.

It's hard to say how either one would fit you without trying it out.

You can get a new Redline Conquest frameset cheaper than either of the frames you're looking at (http://madisonbicycleshop.com/produc...et-78359-1.htm) and they come in smaller sizes.

I have to agree with Andy - not much of a deal on either bike. Check out the Redline, another option in a Kona Jake the Snake - tapered headtube, carbon fork - new for around $500

Since my favorite bike shop is a redline dealer, I'm gonna look there. Thanks for the help guys!
