I may use the CX2 for cross but I mainly will use it on the road. Looking for a disc front fork.

I really love carbon for my road bike. I don't know if it would make cross riding any better or less painful, I really doubt it. It has noting to do with weight and is all about ride quality. Cross is all about suffering and +/- 5lbs wont change where you finish by more than a few seconds....

Last day to get in on the group buy.

Hmm. Only 13 people have put down their deposit so far. I really hope this deal goes through. Does anyone know if the group buy will continue if, say, 36 people put a deposit down?

I ordered the cross fork for a bike buildup. Seems like a good buy for $120. Had some trouble connecting with these folks, writing one email and placing
two phone calls before getting a response.

I got my deposit in. Hope it goes. If not, at Interbike, I hear there will be road bikes with disc brakes in abundance.

I just checked. It is a go. Over 40 have paid the deposit.

Since I couldn't swing this deal, I'm pretty sure I'm going to put that Nashbar fork on my Jake.

Got my CX2 a few days ago. I need a head set and need to get the fork cut. Got a Mavic Speedcity disc front wheel and installed the front rotor, one bolt spun and there was a crack in the hub. Yes I was using a torque wrench set at 55 in lbs. Got the wheel on sale and I hope the LBS will be willing to get me a new one. Don't want to run w/ 5 bolts....

Pedal Force is running 2012 group-buy on the CX2 frame. The format has changed, with Pedal Force considering offers for the frameset.

https://pedalforce.com/online/product...ducts_id=21985

"After we (Pedal Force) have collected all the offers, we will determine a single selling price, $X, for the customers with the highest offers. Anyone who has made an offer equal to or above this price will get the deal. You will pay only $X (which could be lower than your offer price, but never higher). Anyone who has made an offer below $X will be declined and won’t get the deal.

How do we determine the selling price, $X? We will look at all the offer prices and the quantity of order. The greater the total order quantity, the lower the group buy price, $X. Essentially, we will make the deal happen for you if
(i) your offer price is reasonable,
(ii) there are enough people making similar or higher offers, and
(iii) it's a win-win situation for you, the buyer, and we, the seller"!

I'm in on this buy and will use the CX2 to replace and retire my Soma Double Cross.

Here is my CX2 build. 56cm frame / Ultegra 6700. I set it up for a road / rain bike. Great frame. Nice and stiff. I'd buy it again. I prefer the ride on my Roubaix Expert 2011 but it is very close and I don't really notice the difference unless I think about it.

Looks very nice. I am definitely interested in the group buy this time around but I don't really care for the format. I suppose the key is to be reasonable but I am not really sure what to bid yet.

Yes, the format puts Pedal Force in control. They will set the price and control the number of buyers. I offered a purchase price above last years group buy selling price, but below the normal list price.

I'm placing a bid based on the discount level my team gets from our sponsor shop. I figure it this way: If it's what a brick & mortar shop can offer and still cover their overhead plus a little bit, then it's got to be good enough for an online shop.

That is the price I got mine for. I did a 40 mile ride on mine yesterday in the rain. Hope you like it as much as I like mine.

I've added the matching fork & headset to the order for the frame. I was going to strip my Soma Double Cross for parts since I like the cockpit and drivetrain of that bike and I was budgeting the project with a less than $700 spent on new parts.

I'm getting tempted to use mostly new parts on the bike.

Thanks for the update Barrettscv. Does anyone have any information or opinion regarding how the pedal force might stack up against other even more generic offerings such as the FR501? https://www.ebay.com/itm/FR501-Brand-...ht_1869wt_1074

Also Barrettscv, do when do you actually have to come up with the cash for the group buy?
