Opinions/Experience: Pedal Force CX1 frame
Anyone have experience with the Pedal Force CX1 carbon 'cross frame? I've written to Pedal Force to request information regarding weight limits and I'm waiting to hear back, so in the meantime I'm just wondering if anyone here rides the CX1, or any other Pedal Force frame for that matter.
I know they (Pedal Force) get good reviews with the roadies, so I can't imagine that they would skimp on their 'cross frame.
My biggest concern is with weight limit, since even if I manage to hit my rather lofty goal of sub-200 pounds, I'm still a pretty big dude. I've got a teammate about my weight who rolls on a Raleigh SSXC carbon frame and it's been fine, but there's always differences between manufacturers, etc.

Excellent! If it's not to nosy to ask, what sort of weight? (A general lightweight/middleweight/clydesdale is fine.)

I've put 1700 miles on my CG2 since October. These frames are solid, with plenty of stiffness for a 210 lbs rider. My review is here: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...?highlight=CG2

Gonna start squirreling away my pennies for a new build. Now I think my biggest decision is going to be whether I build a new rear wheel with an ENO Eccentric, or go with a Soulcraft Convert tensioner.

Here's the official email response from Pedal Force:
"As a standard practice, the official weight limit for the frame and fork is 100 kg, with a big built-in safety factor. The frame and fork have been tested to well over 300kg without failing. By specifying a weight limit for the frameset (as all bicycles should), it does not mean that sudden failure will happen if someone exceeding the weight limit rides it. Rather, it means that there will be more flex in the frame and fork for the heavier rider, and there is a greater risk of breakage should the bike be crashed."

That sounds like a reasonable reply. My frame, in no way, is showing any sign of stress. It seems a little overbuilt, IMO.
However, I would want a CX2 frame for century rides and gravel trail riding. I’m not sure carbon fiber would be my choice for Cyclocross racing, given my 210 lbs. weight.
