How to set up this straddle cable

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

How to set up this straddle cable

You'll have to forgive my ignorance, but I'm fairly clueless when it comes to cantilevers. I bought a second hand set the other day for my Kona JTS frameset and I can't work out how I would route the cable and housing for this straddle cable to work. Am I missing a component? It looks like the cable housing goes into the black bit then the brake cable continues on to the side of the brake that has the cable clamp on it, but this just doesn't work. Any advice. I could quite easily buy a different straddle cable and use a cable housing stop if need be.

That looks like the Cannondale "Force40" brake cable.
Short answer is: You can't unless you have the special threaded post on your frame and fork into which it bolts.

(I had this on my mid-90's C'dale M700)
