Brand new tubular..trashed?
Brand new wheelset, ready for sat/sun racing...
everything felt great on sat, sun 10 mins prior to staging coming off a pre-lap I here a hiss and my rear wheel is flat.
Here is what I found (see photo), this is my first set of tubulars so I ask
Is there any saving these, tirealert.com, maybe a replacement from Challenge?
Luckily the guy parked next to me could spare a wheel to keep me rolling...
Bummer...

If it were mine I'd probably patch it, put a boot inside the tire, sew it back up, and then keep a careful eye on it to see if the boot was sufficient. But they're a pain to fix which is why I switched to clinchers many years ago.

I'm a member of this club too. Punctured a freshly glued Racing Ralph 2/3s into my recon lap. Rode the tire all of maybe 30 minutes total. Would not seal with Stan's. I might send it to Tire Alert now that the season is almost over.
That said tubulars are awesome. I've done three races on them now.

You might be able to Un stitch it and bond in a Boot with more Latex
'tire life' [&Or 3M Fastack.]
and with saturated cotton fabric, inside the tire then Sew it back Up again

There are definitely times when I'm happy to still be using clinchers.

Been there done that on a nice FMB tire that was mounted a few days before, I still have it in my box of flats taht I will one day sent to Tire Alert. IDK if side wall gashes can be fixed but I'm going to send mine to them anyway. Good luck.
