Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like :The Dirty Kanza". Love this one and the stabilisers would come in handy as I have a habit of falling off my bike on the way back from the pub

It's butted I believe.

I can't really tell much of a difference against cromo. I have an 80's Panasonic touring bike in cromo and it rides as comfortable as with the Maldea. The main difference is probably in the weight as it takes more hiten to achieve the same strength of cromo but otherwise it rides comfortably and smoothes out the road and trail buzz.

Mt commuter is an old Trek Multitrack. Hiten but quite nicely finished. I find the ride quality is good.

I built up this Space Horse earlier this year with most parts coming off my old bike. I'm running 105, with a 5801 front shifter, rs785/rs685 hydraulics, Grails with G-Ones setup tubeless (no issues yet), and added a Fabric Scoop and Easton AX alloy bars. So far this thing rides super smooth, and I don't really feel the weight, even in commuter mode. Looking forward to getting on gravel soon!

Just finished 650b'ing my Jamis Renegade Escapade! I switched it over to Easton 650b wheels with tubelessly installed Compass Switchback Hill tires and PBW fenders. Switched out some parts to suit me, gear range and fit-wise and so far it's working for me pretty well. I really like the way it turned out and it sure rolls smooth! This setup is basically what I've wanted for the last 3 or so years. I thought I'd have to go custom to fit 650bX50 tires and fenders, but this bike is 90%+ what I wanted for half the money.

Still pretty clean at this point in the event.

It was a lot dirtier than it looks in the photo :-) Took quite a while to get in clean on Sunday, glad there wasn't any more rain than what we had on race day!

That is such a cool bike. As I'm collecting bikes at the moment, definitely one to add to the n + 1 collection.

@BluesDawg, that was you? I thought you were doing some other event and weren't going to be present? I would have pedaled back to say hello had I known it was you.

I didn't take a cup. You shrugged as if to say, "suit yourself." Keep in mind that not everyone partakes.

This photo was taken before the race...

Latest "Gravel Bike" creation. A 2016 Giant ATX 27.5 that I wasn't using much since I got my Felt DD70 Fatbike. Using some Ritchey Logic bars and Tektro brake levers purchased for $20 and a set of Shimano 7speed road bike shifters for $28 I have a surprisingly good riding comfortable machine for limestone trails and lesser roads. I replaced the tires since the photos with Continental Double Fighter 2.0 and find it even faster and fun to ride. A short adjustable stem from MEC and some new cabling rounded out the conversion.

Hi Tom! Although South Western Ontario is predominantly flat or rolling hills, our local area along the Lake Erie shore is a series of shorter yet steep hills carved out by the streams and rivers of yore. Typically a normal ride will have me in the middle of my triple and on the 34T cog to climb out of the river valley or up from the beach at some point. The rest of the time is flat to rolling. The north shore of Lake Erie is a nice place to ride and our local trail system stretches north, west, east and along the Grand River.
