Looking for new Wheelset for my AWOL.

Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Looking for new Wheelset for my AWOL.

Looking for new Wheelset for my AWOL.

Hey Folks -

One of the newer additions to my rides is a Spec AWOL. I like it, it's fairly hefty - ( coming from a Guercotti XC @ 20 yrs old )
- I like it - soaks up more road than the 'cotti - but I find the stock wheels pretty sluggish. Suggestions in the $500 range.

Like the bike a lot - nice for my 12 mile commute, just need a little bit more lightness to the jump, etc...

I swapped tires on mine and noticed a difference. I used the stock 29x1.95s that came on my Stumpjumper on the AWOL. The tires feel lighter and the bike "seems" to accelerate quicker. Might be rode colored glasses?
