FD clamp size on the Corss-Check ?

and it's bottom pull too I presume from the photo of the frame.

No, it's 28.6 bottom pull. 30.0 is the seat clamp diameter. The tubes are butted.

See a couple of other surly frames - they spec the FD size there.
