Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Oklahoma Land Run 100

Registration for this event opens this weekend and I have a question for those who may rode it last year. We are getting conflicting reports as to whether the event transports gear bags to the checkpoints and back to the finish line. The website which appears out of date says that bags will be shulttled but, I have a friend who suggested that in 2014 each rider was to provide his/her own support (I believe this to be a fact) and that gear was not shuttled to checkpoints.

Can any of you who may have ridden last year let me know what to expect?

Do I need a support crew?
No. HOWEVER, If you get lost, hurt, or just plain worn out and want to quit, this is where having a support crew comes in handy. We have a limited number of volunteers that out of the kindness of their gravel loving hearts will dawn a cape and come rescue you if you need to be evacuated from the course. We’ll see how it goes this year to gauge if we can offer this next year. High demand will mean slow response time, so find some place comfy and be patient.

Rule of Thumb: If you are uncomfortable, keep pedaling. If you feel things are getting on the bad side of dangerous, call your support crew or the number on the map.
There will be a phone number printed on the bottom of the route map that is your non-emergency line to our team of volunteers, for emergencies call 911.
We will have a drop bag service available in which your stuff can be hauled to the check points by our team of volunteers and then hauled back to the finish line. Drop bags must be ready for drop off by 7:30 am on race day.
Drop bag service
One thing that Land Run offers that other gravel rides don’t is a drop bag service. Bring your bag to the start line and we’ll make sure it’s at the half way point for you and we’ll even make sure it’s waiting on you at the finish line.

Can my support crew follow me along the route?
NO. Support crews are not allowed on course except to pick up a rider who is abandoning the event. If a support crew is found to be on course (except at official checkpoints), that rider will be immediately disqualified from the event.
