Trek Boone + Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 = Dropped Chain

Notices
Cyclocross and Gravelbiking (Recreational) This has to be the most physically intense sport ever invented. It's high speed bicycle racing on a short off road course or riding the off pavement rides on gravel like : "Unbound Gravel". We also have a dedicated Racing forum for the Cyclocross Hard Core Racers.

Trek Boone + Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 = Dropped Chain

Trek Boone + Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 electronic drivetrain doesn't seem to be a good combo: See Sven Nys' mechanical issue at 11:50 time on the live Milton Keynes video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2CD5_oCZ2M

(you need Hola set to Great Britain).

Sven Nys' Trek Boone 9 Cyclocross Bike Profile - CrossVegas

PS, same issues with Katie Compton's same bike spec: https://www.bikeforums.net/recreation...ow-cincy3.html

I think that both Sven and Katy need to hobble together a Shimano hacked 1x11 with an XTR Di2 rear derailleur and a "re-branded" narrow-wide front single chainring.

In the interview mid race one of the announcers said that Sven brings more bikes, wheels, etc to a race than an entire road team's spares. I think their mechanics are fine, rather it is the technology.

You need to read about their tech and the history of what they did. Especially KFC's tech.
