first cross bike help
 

Hi, im relatively new to the forum and im looking for advice on a new cross bike. Where i live, i have lots of options but was mostly looking at:
-Focus mares ax 2.0 with 105
-canondale caadx 105
-felt f5x full carbon with sram rival
Im getting a good deal on the felt, so all of the bikes are about 1650 cad
Im looking for a bike to use on road as well as light singletrack. Thanks for your help, if you have other suggestions thats great aswell.

I have the Felt F5X. It is an aggressive setup to be sure but, it has not caused any issues on road or gravel. I will say that the bike is quicker than my Trek Domane and seems to knife through the wind but, cross winds are noticeable.

FYI - I rode 50 mIles of combined road and D&G two weeks ago with no issues. I rode a combined 17 mph and according to the Gramin was only slightly slower on D&G. This was with a strong headwind for the first 25 miles.

Thanks for that info, it doesnt seem like many people have ridden the felt. I think its probably the best deal for now, 1650 for a full carbon bike with rival isnt doing too bad at all. Intresting that you find it quicker than your domane, thats pretty cool. Did you change the tires out for road stuff or are the stock ones alright?

I hated the stock tires. I replaced them with Schawlbe Sammy Slick tires.

FYI - 1,650 cad is a great price
