Redline Conquest?

I came across a Redline Conquest CX bike that has the Kawi Green paint scheme. It has bar end shifters. I did some research and haven't been able to pinpoint when it came out originally. Anybody familiar with these? Are they worthwhile?

Redline makes decent CX bikes. They've had models named Conquest for 15 years or more. A quick poke at Google suggests you're probably looking at a 2000 Conquest.

...aluminum, 15-year old Sora-level components. It's probably a decent bike for $250 or less.

IIRC, going much wider than a 32-33c tire on it will be a very tight squeeze.

I saw it pop up for sale a couple days ago. I am considering trying a cross race or two this coming year. I have a Fuji touring bike now. Is it worth going after this? Rest of my riding is on the road mostly. I can't have two bikes so that is out of the question.

If you didn't already have the Fuji I would say this would be an OK bike for all-around riding and trying out CX racing. But the position of the bar end shifters and the tight tire clearance gamby mentions are both strikes against it for CX racing so you're probably better off keeping what you have if it works for you. You can try CX racing on your Fuji and if you love it then you can find something more race ready.
