I was blown apart by the end of that race. So far there are no good photos from Master B's, at least of me.

A few shots from Cross Crusade #1 at Alpenrose Dairy on Sunday.

I've been trying to cultivate the homeless look, and I think I may have finally figured out how to look toothless.

But I actually do have most of my teeth.

Unlike most CX pictures, I think that might be an actual smile. I was chasing that guy for about 20 minutes and I finally caught him.

Yeah, I raced Heiser Farms. I crashed, flatted and still got 10th place (out of 10). Great fun!
I somehow managed to mess up my weight shift on the last whoop-de-doo on my second lap and crashed spectacularly. I was a well-placed camcorder away from starring in a sequel to Joey's OK. I landed with my rib cage squarely on the handlebars, then continued the flip and smacked my head into the ground pretty hard. I think I may have cracked a rib, and as of this morning I've got a very clear outline of my brake lever and gear indicator bruised into my chest. I think if you look close enough you can probably even see what gear I was in. Luckily, the pain from this injury developed slowly enough not to keep me from racing at Alpenrose. I don't think I could have done it today.

Lakeland Fl CX Short Track Throwdown. I finished 7th in the Cat 4s. Had some mud which is unusual in Florida. Great race. I made it through the mud the first couple laps then I biffed it and ran afterwards.

Who put these damn boards in the road?

Downhill, loose dirt, off camber 110 degree turn. What could go wrong?

Why are all those people using CX bikes on a MTB course?
Regarding the flyover (which I'm impressed to see someone is actually flying over), we had one of those at Cross Crusade #3 at PIR on Sunday. One of the organizers said this about it:

That's obviously not me in the picture. Far from getting airborne, I actually hit my pedal on the top one lap.

course crossings at PIR have historically been a huge source of frustration, so to alleviate this issue the crusade has acquired a bridge for the event. other options included a giant cannon, trebuchet, tunnel, tram, and teleportation, but the flyover seemed like the most dangerous so we went for it.

That's obviously not me in the picture. Far from getting airborne, I actually hit my pedal on the top one lap.

Catching a pathetic amount of air heading into beach section #2 at the Silver Lake SS race. Easily the hardest race I have ever done.

On the grass yesterday in the Cat 4 35+ race at Magnuson Park.

Thanks to Woodinville Bicycle for snappin' the pics.

About ten seconds after this shot was taken, I'd bash my front wheel on a big ol' rock, causing a pinch flat and requiring me to run what seemed like miles to get to the pit.

Jingle Cross Cat 4. Third race ever and I finished it ahead of a couple people. Rode a Surly Ogre SS with its 29x2.1's switched out for a Challenge Grifo Open 33 and a Clement Crusade PDX. Lot of fun - really glad we didn't ride Mt. Krumpit.

OBRA CX Championships at Camp Harlow in Eugene. This was one of the few moments all day I wasn't sliding sideways.

Florida Cross
Actually had to break out some cold weather gear here in Florida. This race was in Ocala last weekend. 3 races left in the season.
